Fatty acid
Resinoline BD 2
Tall oil fatty acids, produced from the distillation of Crude Tall Oil (a byproduct of the pulp industry).
Resinoline BD 2 shows a low rosin content and is mainly composed by C18 fatty acids. It displays a mono carboxylic acid functionality particularly recommended in chemical synthesis.
Applications
- Alkyd resins, polyester resins, industrial oils, soaps, drilling fluids
- Surfactants, bitumen emulsions
- Fuel additives. Lubricants

HANDLING AND STORAGE
Store under cover and at temperature between 15 and 30°C maximum with a recommended storage and handling temperature at around 20°C. Containers must be kept sealed under cool, dry conditions. When stored in bulk, nitrogen blanketing is recommended.
If BD 2 is subjected to cold temperatures during storage or transportation it may become cloudy or show some precipitation. This is a normal characteristic and not a defect. If affected, the material should be gently heated to max. 30 °C and circulated or agitated to restore the clear and bright condition. Rotating sealed stock every 6 months would be best practice.
STABILITY
Stability of about 18 months in standard conditions
